The Digital Village, presented by XN Qu\u00e9bec and MUTEK, will return to downtown Montreal for its third edition.<\/p>\n\n

From August 20 to September 3, 2026, a selection of artworks will be displayed in public spaces around the Place des Festivals to showcase digital creativity from here and abroad.<\/p>\n\n

Among the highlights of this third edition are no fewer than 11 works created or co-created by members of XN Qu\u00e9bec.<\/p>\n\n

Perspetives<\/h2>\n\n

Perspectives is a digital installation based on the principle of anamorphosis. It consists of a circular projection surface suspended horizontally about four meters above the floor, with a reflective column suspended at its center. Projectors, positioned on either side of the installation, project deliberately distorted images that appear, at first glance, to be largely abstract. However, when viewed in their reflection on the column, their content is revealed through the principle of anamorphosis: the distortion of the mirror compensates for that of the projection, gradually unveiling the secrets contained within the images. <\/p>\n\n

“Reflets dansants” is a video journey that brings together contemporary dance, Gasp\u00e9 landscapes, and digital art. Conceived by Julie Dalbec and produced by Mandoline Hybride, the project invites the audience to discover the region through a visual and poetic experience in which movement, light, and landscape interact. <\/p>\n\n

As part of its 30th-anniversary celebrations, the Society for Arts and Technology and Marie LeBlanc Flanagan are presenting an immersive, collaborative installation that transforms Place de la Paix, in the Quartier des Spectacles, into an interactive playground. Designed as a collective experience, beams of light illuminate the concrete slabs of the space, inviting visitors to play. The evolution of the experience will be influenced by the movements and interactions among participants, thanks to a motion-capture tool developed at the SAT. <\/p>\n\n
