Production, distribution, discoverability and representation issues for independent podcasting in Quebec

As part of the Rendez-Vous Ohdio, held on February 20 at Maison de Radio-Canada, Prune Lieutier, researcher at HEC Montréal and director of La puce à l’oreille, presented the results of her study, carried out in collaboration with Xn Québec, on creation, production and distribution issues facing the independent production community in Quebec.

This research report is intended for professionals in the podcasting and digital sectors, as well as for public authorities interested in these sectors, and constitutes the first formal deliverable of a post-doctoral research project addressing the issues of production, distribution, discoverability and representation of independent podcasting in Quebec. It concludes two years of research, with an analysis of media occurrences, an analysis of public discourses (collective public meetings, interactions on social networks, etc.) and a documentation of producer issues.
