L’horizon de Khéops

Who hasn’t dreamed of visiting the Pyramid of Giza, descending into its mysterious chambers and unlocking its secrets?
That’s the promise of L’horizon de Khéops, the world’s largest immersive exhibition dedicated to ancient Egypt. Produced in collaboration with Professor Peter Der Manuelian of Harvard University, the experience allows participants equipped with VR headsets to wander through a 10,000 sq. ft. space designed to faithfully recreate the tomb of the Pharaoh Khufu.

Bell Orchestre Sound House : An Interactive Musical Score

Would you like to experience an incomparable musical ritual? This experience is for you!
SAT’s new gallery space is home to Sound House, an interactive audiovisual installation inspired by the album House Music by Montreal band Bell Orchestre. Participants can influence the musical score that inhabits the “sound house” by moving objects around the room.
The AATOAA studio of Vincent Morisset (director of Arcade Fire’s Neon Bible interactive music video) and Caroline Robert (winner of the Prix Numix – Sérotonine Anonyme) is responsible for this new creation.

So it should come as no surprise that the winner of the NUMIX AWARD in the In situ – Exhibition category is located in the 514. Visit the Centre des mémoires montréalaises to discover Détours – Rencontres urbaines.
This immersive exhibition introduces you to 18 Montrealers with atypical backgrounds. The result is an audiovisual quilt that showcases the city in all its diversity and originality.
The voyage of Arka Kinari
Société des arts technologiques, until August 16
Come aboard the Arka Kinari and take a voyage with musicians Grey Filastine and Nova Ruth.
This immersive documentary recounts the extraordinary journey of the schooner Arka Kinari. From port to port, her crew, made up of a community of activists, creators and artists, organizes activities on the theme of resilience in the face of climate change. And in the evenings, the ship is transformed into a performance space for Filastine & Nova.

Nos récits, notre voie: parcours Peel – Portrait sonore

Recharge your phone, put on your walking shoes and set off on an adventure through the streets of Montreal with Portrait sonore.
This mobile application, available free of charge on the App Store or Google Play, offers a variety of documentary audio guides to accompany your travels around the city. Whether you’re on Mount Royal, downtown or in Parc Jean-Drapeau, there’s a route for you.
Suggested experiences include Nos récits, notre voie: parcours Peel, a Portrait Sonore and Yändata’ creation, winner of the Mention diversité et inclusion at the most recent NUMIX AWARDS gala. This 11-station route is accompanied by the magnificent bronze sculptures designed by artists MC Snow and Kyra Revenko and set out along Peel Street.
Sonia Boyce: FEELING HER WAY
PHI Fondation, until September 8
Intrigued by contemporary art? Head to the Phi Foundation in Old Montreal to discover the world of Sonia Boyce.
You’ll find a “sumptuous visual and sonic polyphony centered on the vocal performance and improvisation of four renowned black singers: Poppy Ajudha, Jacqui Dankworth MBE, Sofia Jernberg and Tanita Tikaram”.
This major work won a prestigious Golden Lion at the 59th Venice Biennale International Art Exhibition in 2022.
VAN GOGH – Distorsion
OASIS immersion, until September 2
Back by popular demand: the exhibition VAN GOGH – Distortion.
The team formed by Montreal creative studio Normal Studio and Canadian producer Paquin Entertainment Group offers a fresh look at the career and work of the celebrated Dutch painter.
A total of 225 paintings, sketches and sketches by the Impressionist master are highlighted in the three OASIS immersion galleries. Also on offer at OASIS immersion: the Rêver l’Asie and Nature vive experiences.
Interactive wall INSITU – Montréal en histoires
Maison Symphonique, at any time
Projected onto the Maison Symphonique and visible from the Esplanade de la Place des Arts, this work invites visitors to create a live visual poem in constant transformation!
The project is part of the INSITU itinerary, which uses augmented reality to highlight the achievements of major Montreal cultural institutions. To experience it for yourself, download the free INSITU application, available on the App store or Google Play Store, and discover the highlights of Montreal’s history with Cité mémoire, a video projection tour designed by Michel Lemieux and Victor Pilon.
Parcours Le Mignonisme by Philippe Katerine
Montréal, until September 29
The Monsieurs Roses, the emblematic figures of mignonism, an artistic movement initiated by Philippe Katherine, take downtown Montreal by storm, accompanied by a digital work by Montreal artist Jérémy Fassio. Visit the Espace culturel Georges-Émile-Lapalme at Place des Arts to discover it.
V F C
Cinémathèque québécoise, August 1-3
V F C is a hybrid experience combining traditional filmmaking and augmented reality technologies. Theatrical screenings allow each viewer to listen to a personalized soundtrack reflecting his or her cognitive state in real time, via EEG (electroencephalogram) headphones and a pair of bone-conduction earphones.
